Simon and Mike

Simon Bazley

Simon lives in Brookhouse Drive, Wooburn Green where he works from home as a software engineer. Simon has been working in IT locally since graduating from the University of York, with an Electronics Engineering degree in 1997. His experience in running a small business and his knowledge of IT has made him a useful addition to the District Council since his election in 2005, where he has focused on Development Control (Planning), Planning policy and scrutinising the Council.

Simon is standing for election to the Parish Council for the first time and hopes to get more involved in the local community.

Mike Appleyard

Mike Appleyard has been a local Councillor for nearly 20 years, playing an active part in community life in The Wooburns and Bourne End for nearly 25 years. He has been a School Governor at Claytons, Meadows and Wye Valley. He was Chairman of Bourne End Junior Sports Club and a member of the Bourne End Community Association and Chairman of Wooburn Parish Council. He has been involved in many of the major public projects in the Wooburn area.

Mike has held key posts as Chairman of Social Services and Chairman of Education at the County Council and has been a Spokesman on Economic Development in the District for many years.
