Ryemead

Kathy Dix

Kathy Dix
Kathy’s first experience of community affairs was due to a Deangarden Rise Residents Association in order to force the then – Sewage Treatment Works – to improve their methods of ‘odour control’, as individual complaints about the stench were being ignored by Thames Water. The residents association had considerable success, and the atmosphere around the Marsh and Bassetsbury area became much sweeter, proving that there is strength in numbers. Kathy has lived in Wycombe all her life and takes a keen interest in local matters, she is well known for her voluntary and charity work. She has served as a councillor for twelve years, and in 2000 she became Deputy Mayor of High Wycombe – but has declined the offer to be Mayor as this would leave little time for family, friends and constituents. For relaxation she likes walking her dogs on Kingsmead recreation ground, and chatting with other dog owners.

She keeps in touch with many of her constituents via the internet (she finally learned to use the computer) but is more than happy to visit people at home, if they have problems they wish to discuss.

Kathy hopes you will give her the opportunity to serve for a further four years.
