Ian Wernham
Ian Wernham is 42 and has lived in Marlow for 14 years. He is an Accounts Administrator at a Hotel &
Conference Centre in Cookham. Ian is a former Lib Dem Town Councillor, who disillusioned by their tax
and spend policies and anti motorists stance, joined the Conservatives last year.
Ian says "I believe Marlow is a great place to live but being an attractive Thames side town means we
have many visitors, which can lead to traffic problems. There are many ways we can improve the traffic
in our town, with out penalising the motorist: for example the introduction of lay-bys at many of the bus
stops to help traffic flow, safe cycle routes to encourage more people to cycle into town. We could also
explore the feasibility of using the empty car parks on the industrial estate for a park and ride scheme at
the weekends, when many tourists visit our town".
Apart from politics Ian's other interests include, classic cars, scooters, walking, cycling, parrots,
Broadcasting history and Radio Jingles.
