Marlow Town - North and West
Jo Braybrooke
Jo started off life in Marlow nearly 10 years ago owning and running a café in the High Street with her husband and
daughter. They subsequently sold this business approximately 2 years ago and are now living near Great Marlow School.
During the period of running the business the family lived above the café and were made aware of the good things that
happened in Marlow and also some of the problems encountered by the residents.
For the last 6 years she has been responsible for the late Night Shopping Event at Christmas organised by the Marlow
Chamber of Trade & Commerce and for the past 2 years was the Chamber’s President.
She would like to be elected on to the Council as she is passionate about the future of Marlow and would like to take on
board the wishes of its people to try and influence any decisions made.

Suzanne Brown
Suzanne is 43 years old and has lived and worked in and around Marlow for nearly 10 years. Following a 15 year career
in the computer industry that started in Marlow, she moved into the property industry and after 10 years experience has
now set up her own lettings business within the offices of an established agent in West Street, Marlow. She is a member
of the Marlow Chamber of Trade and Commerce and a volunteer on a management committee that looks after the block
of flats in Laurance Court, Marlow.
Suzanne wants to look after Marlow and help the town grow in the future.

Tony Dunn
Born in Liverpool, Tony has lived in the Marlow area since 1978. He is a Chartered Surveyor, advising on property
development projects in the UK and abroad. Ann, his wife, for almost 38 years, teaches at Wycombe High School. Their
three children, David, Michael and Susanna went to Danesfield School and then Sir William Borlase’s School.
Tony has represented Marlow North & West as a Wycombe District Councillor since 2003 holding several senior
positions on the Council. He was previously a District Councillor for Hambleden Valley from 1995 to 2001. He has a
wide experience in local Government and is keen to make it more efficient and responsive to local needs.
Tony has been a Marlow Town Councillor since 1999 and wants to preserve the Town’s heritage while making it a great
place to live and work in the 21st century. He has chaired the Planning Committee for the last four years and was deputy
Mayor in 2004 – 05 and 2005 – 06.

Barbara Lowe
Barbara Lowe moved to Barnards Hill, Marlow eight years ago having been an active Conservative in South Yorkshire
and Milton Keynes for over 26 years.
Barbara has a great appreciation for the beauty of the area and is a keen supporter of the retail potential of the High
Street.
She has been a Marlow Town Councillor for the last four years and served on both the Planning and Finance committees
and number of other sub committees.
Barbara works as a PA for a Champagne House based in Marlow

Neil Marshall
Neil was raised and educated in the North East of England. He and his family have lived in the Marlow area for the past
30 years, both of his children having attended local schools.
His professional background is in aviation and currently balances retirement with running a Bed and Breakfast business.
Since being elected to Marlow Town Council in 1998 he has been active on a number of committees, having been vice-
Chairman of the Planning Committee for the past 4 years and Deputy Town Mayor in 2006 - 07. Neil was involved in
establishing the Town Regatta and Festival and is an active member of the Town Forum, Health Check steering committee and a Governor of Spinfield School.

Frank Sweatman
Frank moved to Marlow with his family over forty years ago and has been actively involved in the local community ever
since.
He first joined the Conservative Party in Birmingham in 1952 and has been involved in many ways since then, serving
continuously from 1976 as a Town, District and County Councillor. He was Chairman of Wycombe District Council in
1990 – 91 and Town Mayor of Marlow in 2003 – 04.
Outside politics, he spent his working life as a legal executive specialising in commercial property work in private
practice and in the legal departments of major property companies.
He is a governor of Sir William Borlase School and Burford County Primary School in Marlow Bottom. He also enjoys
walking his dog, sailing and golf, although the latter has been somewhat restricted recently.
His wife Gill has always supported him in his political activities and continues to do so.

Roger Wilson
Roger, who has lived in the Marlow area for over 35 years, is married with three children. He has been a councillor for
Marlow and it’s surrounding areas since 1987 and has been Chairman of Great Marlow Parish, as well as having been
the Mayor of Marlow for 2004-05. He is currently Chairman of the Audit Committee of Wycombe District Council, which
enables him to maintain a close watch on how your District rates are spent. The actions of his committee have saved
the community monies, which can be directed elsewhere for the benefit of everyone. He enjoys theatre, opera, music,
cricket and walking over the beautiful countryside that surrounds Marlow. He is determined to maintain the ambience
of Marlow and the surrounding area to allow the Town to evolve as local peoples’ demands dictate.
