Pam Priestley
Pam Priestley is married with two grown-up sons and
two grandchildren. She has a BA (Hons) degree and is a
retired teacher. She has represented Icknield Ward on
Wycombe District Council since 1983 and has held a
number of senior positions, including Chairman of the
Council and Leader of the Council. For the past four
years she has chaired the Development Control
Committee, which determines controversial planning
applications.
Pam has fought hard to keep this area a pleasant place
in which to live and has resisted unsuitable large-scale
developments on greenfield sites. She will do all she
can to ensure that housing numbers do not rise above
those needed for local people, knowing that this would
put intolerable pressure on our already congested
roads and would lead to rat-running, which damages
our country lanes.
Pam has always made sure that the rural voice is heard
on Wycombe District Council and that rural needs are
not forgotten. During the past four years she has
worked with the Parish Councils to secure funding for
the skate park at Longwick and games walls for
teenagers in Kimble, Ellesborough and Longwick.
Pam is a Governor at Wycombe High School. She is a
member of the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education,
which looks after Church of England schools. She is a
long serving member of Longwick-cum Ilmer Parish
Council. Pam is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of
Arts.
