Downley & Plomer Hill
Wendy Mallen
I moved to High Wycombe 24 years ago with my husband and two children. I am involved with the local Citizens' Advice Bureau, District Scout Council, Handy Cross Sports Centre and Inner Wheel. I am a governor of a local school.
Within the local area I have supported 3rd Downley Scouts, Downley Old School Association and Maplewood School with funds for major equipment purchases and the Maplewood Hydrotherapy Pool fund.
Since 1999 I have served on a variety of the Council's committees, including being Chairman of Economic Improvement and Scrutiny, Chairman of Audit Committee, member of Development Control and Licensing Committees amongst others. I am the District's Health Spokesperson at District and County level.
I have -
- Worked to protect the local environment and Green Belt land.
- Campaigned to improve developments to ensure the special character and green spaces of the area are maintained.
- Lobbied the Health Authorities for improved health provision in the Downley area.
I shall work hard to promote your concerns within the Ward and request your vote on 3rd May.

Audrey Jones
I moved to High Wycombe in 1969 and have spent much of that time living in Downley. I am married to Rhys. I am a chartered secretary by profession and have spent most of my career in the public sector, first in the health service and then in local government working for the County Council Education Service. I retired in 1996 and then ran a small business working from home.
I have been involved in working for the local community as a Parish Councillor in Downley some years ago, District Councillor since 1999 and County Councillor 2001-2005. At the District Council I have been a member of the Cabinet since its inception six years ago and in that time I have had experience of three portfolios. I am currently responsible for the Environmental Portfolio which covers such issues as recycling household waste, environmental health, and planning and implementing adaptations to local services to combat climate change.
If elected, I shall work hard to promote your concerns within the Ward
and ensure that you get good value for money by keeping Council Tax as low as possible while providing the services you require of the District Council.
