Disraeli

Jeanette Mann

Jeanette Mann
I am a mother and grandmother, with my younger son at university. My background was in recruitment and selection for over 30 years. I am the author of two books and at present am writing two more. I am a holistic therapist and stress management counsellor.

I would like us to work together in partnership to help make the community clean, safe and secure for all to enjoy. I am here to listen to you the voter, and do my utmost to help with your problems. I love High Wycombe and its people, and have everyone’s interests at heart. I will do whatever it takes to help the people of this area.

If elected, I will take particular interest in

  • keeping the Council’s costs down, but at the same time delivering value for money
  • care for the elderly as I feel that more should be done in this area.
  • endeavouring to keep crime off our streets
  • striving to find a way to keep the youth off the streets
  • drug addicts and shoplifters need to be stopped by people working together and reporting the culprits
  • making the streets free from litter, and give people a pride in their surroundings
  • safety on the roads and pavements, free from all potholes and uneven surfaces

We all need to pool our energies and knowledge and work together as a team. This is the only way we will get High Wycombe to be the sort of place we all want to live and work in.

Mahammed Saeed

My name is Mohammed Saeed and I am keen to stand as a local councillor for the ward of Disraeli. I was born and brought up in High Wycombe, attended local schools and studied law at University as well as completing a Masters from the University of London. I have worked for a number of companies in legal departments and as well as a leading regional law firm. I am currently working for Capita Group in Reading on a multi-million pound Legal Contract with the Department of Education which aims to raise standards in schools across the country.

I have been actively involved in local community work for a number of years as well as charity work assisting a leading organisation. I have dealt with a varied range of problems affecting residents of High Wycombe including planning and housing issues. I am motivated to participate in the local district council and assist the residents of the ward as well as contributing to our town's further improvement. The issues important to me are environment, housing, education and transport. More importantly, I believe the underlying purpose in all our combined efforts should be to live where we strive to achieve a good quality of life.

I am fortunate to have a legal background which I believe will be useful, along with the belief that my current work has an impact on local schools, a natural affinity with our town and a supportive family including four children. I hope that I can count on your support to vote for me on Thursday 3rd May 2007.
