The Manifesto of the Wycombe Conservative Group for the Wycombe District Council Election

May 2007

Foreword

The Wycombe Conservative Group will ensure that during their four year term Wycombe District is economically, environmentally and socially viable with financial stability.

Wycombe District is very diverse – large rural and urban areas – significant ethnic groups combined with wealth as well as pockets of deprivation, large areas of Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The key to satisfying the many needs of our residents lies in identifying them accurately.

The Annual General Household Survey along with information provided by the 60 Councillors representing Wycombe District, forms the basis of the Community Plan. This plan is owned not just by Wycombe District Council and the Residents of the District but also by our Local Strategic Partners – both statutory and voluntary. It is the intention of the Wycombe Conservative Group to work with the three other District Councils and the County Council to make certain that the Enhanced Two-Tier Pathfinder process is a success and will deliver savings for all our residents and will work towards reducing council tax across Buckinghamshire.

The foregoing will enable the setting of the priorities and policies as identified in the following pages.

Councillor Lesley Clarke
Leader, Wycombe District Council

The Conservatives on Wycombe District Council are proud to have been trusted to run the Council for the past 8 years. We believe that we have been able to deliver good value services for the people of the district and will ensure that we will work hard to continue to earn that trust.

Please allow us the opportunity to carry on delivering good services whilst ensuring that Council Tax increases are kept to an absolute minimum by voting for your Conservatives candidates on the 3rd May.

Councillor Tony Green

Chairman of the Conservative Group, Wycombe District Council
